Malmo Community, a Description

A residential neighbourhood in southwest Edmonton, Malmo community’s boundaries are 122 and 111 Streets and Whitemud Drive and 51 Avenue. (map)  The name comes from the type of soil (malmo silty clay loam) found in the area.  The University of Alberta’s family residence, Mitchener Park, houses students (couples and families).  Schools in the neighbourhood are the Malmo Plains Elementary School (Edmonton Public School System) and The Maria Montessori School.
