Soccer Registration Open

Ready...set...go! Outdoor Soccer Registration is open until March 1 at https://emsasouthwest.com/ . The season runs from early May until the end of June. More information on soccer registration here. This year Malmo's soccer registration will be handled by the Lendrum soccer coordinator, Julie (thank you!!). If you have any questions about the soccer program, or are available to volunteer as a team official, please contact Julie at soccer@lendrum.org

Are you interested in being Malmo's Soccer Coordinator?

This volunteer position is vital to our soccer program and a great leadership and learning opportunity. Duties include: recruiting coaches and referees, making teams, organizing soccer registration, attending zone and other soccer related meetings, etc. If you're able to help out for some or all of the duties, please reach out immediately to president@malmoplains.com

Sunday February 11th, 

Valentine’s Art Sale & Show, 10am-5pm

Check out affordable gallery quality art at Malmo Hall! Makes excellent gifts for Valentine’s Day.

Tuesday February 13th, Social Committee Meeting, 7pm-8pm

Malmo Social Committee meets second Tuesday of every month. All welcome to help us plan upcoming social events! We would love to hear your ideas and input for how we can make awesome Malmo events.

Saturday February 17th, Malmo Skate Fest, 12pm-3pm

Come skate at the Malmo Outdoor Rink with neighbours! We will have hotdogs*, s’mores, hot chocolate, a skating instructor, and more! Free and drop-in anytime. Skating will be weather permitting, and food and community will be there rain or shine!

Tuesday February 20th, Malmo Blood Drive, Bus Pick-up 9:40am 

The Life Bus will pick up participants at Malmo Hall at 9:40am to donate blood at Canadian Blood Services. Free snacks and drinks provided for donors. More info here.To sign up, please email Muhammad at vicepresident@malmoplains.com.


Tuesday February 20th, Malmo Board Meeting, 7pm-8:30pm 

Dinner provided* and socializing at 7pm, and board meeting starts at 7:30pm. Open to all Malmo residents. Come join the discussion on Malmo Community League initiatives!

*While supplies last. Gluten free, vegetarian, and halal options available.

Sakalya Yoga with Cheryl (Malmo Hall)

All levels welcome. Wednesdays 7pm-8pm. Malmo Member $10 drop in/Non-Member $15 drop in

Craft Club (Malmo Hall)

Volunteer opportunity available! Would you like to help make Malmo even more awesome? We are seeking help with three positions: secretary, membership director, and soccer coordinator. No experience necessary. Even if you are able to help out for just part of the duties, that would be greatly appreciated. Please email president@malmoplains.com if you are available.



Soapy Saints

Would you like a tax deduction for helping the Edmonton Food Bank? A Malmo resident and his gang, the Saintly Super Soapy Syndicate, have donated 27,670 laundry soap pods since April 2022 to needy families. To learn how to be part of this effort, please email Robert at soapysaint@hotmail.com.

Purchasing a Malmo Membership has multiple benefits:

  • Free swimming during community hours (Saturday and Sunday 4pm-5:30pm starting Sept 2023-August 2024) at Confederation Leisure Centre

  • Access to free or discounted programs at the community hall

  • 20% off for annual and ongoing monthly memberships at City of Edmonton recreational facilities

**Malmo Community League is run purely on volunteer efforts. Membership is FREE if you want to volunteer for at least one event! If interested, please select the Volunteer membership at the store, and we will reach out with volunteer opportunities.
