The Royal Malmo Archaeological Society returns to Malmo Plains this Halloween season with a bigger dig and even more fun programming for the community!
Resident Halloween Fanatics Mike and Kelsey Kendrick (located at 4712 Malmo Road) invite neighbours to visit their cursed mummy's tomb on Halloween night and explore the depths of the Necropolis of Ibu-Nefret. Trick-or-treaters of all ages are welcome to venture into the crypt, which has been overrun by the wrath of ancient Egyptian deities, awakened by last year's archaeological dig.
In the days leading up to October 31, the Royal Malmo Archaeological Society is also recruiting Junior Archaeologists, inviting young members of the community to join in an archaeological scavenger hunt to recover lost relics and the notes of researchers who've gone missing in the field. Explorers can pick up a worksheet from headquarters at 4712 Malmo Road, then search the neighbourhood to locate these hidden objects and decode their riddles. Those who do so successfully can bring their worksheets to the tomb on Halloween night in exchange for prizes.
Mike and Kelsey have also organized a fundraiser in support of the Edmonton Public Schools Foundation, which strives to level the educational playing field for children who come to the classroom at a disadvantage, supporting programs that exist outside of the Government of Alberta’s public funding. Donations $25 and over are eligible for a charitable tax receipt, and can be made by visiting the fundraiser page:
