Snow-tacular January & February

We have ice! Skating at the Rink

Hours: 3pm–9pm weekdays | 8am–9pm weekends
Location: Malmo Ice Rink

Rinks and rink shack open depending on weather. If temperature is warmer than +5C or colder than -20 (windchill), the rink may be closed. Consult the whiteboard or Facebook for periodic updates.
No pucks or sticks on the small rink, please!

Ready, Set, Play! Pizza and Games Night

Saturday, January 24 | 4:00pm to 9:00pm | Malmo Community Hall

FREE and open to the whole community. Board games and card games — learn a new one or pull out an old favourite and play with someone new!

Pizza: Come before 5pm to be counted for the pizza order: $10/person or $20/family.

Get toasty! Firepit and Hot Chocolate Nights*

FREE and open to the whole community. Bring your skates and enjoy the rink, then warm up and have a hot drink. Feel free to bring your guitar or other acoustic instrument and/or your roasting sticks and some marshmallows (or other treats).

Attention Parents! Soccer Registration is coming up…

Lendrum will be assisting with soccer registration for Malmo again this year. Come play community soccer this spring!

Outdoor soccer registration: opens February 2 and closes February 28.

Register your child on time to ensure they get a spot on a team, and are not put on a waitlist.

To play community soccer you must have a valid community league membership.

Canadian Blood Services is open near the Whitemud Crossing Library. With the new donor centre just minutes away, donating has never been more convenient for Malmo residents — first-time donors and returning donors welcome.

Sand and grit for sidewalks
In 2024, the City of Edmonton stopped filling the community sandbox at the hall for residential use. Sand there is now reserved for Community League grounds.

Beat the cold! Community Swim

The swim program is available for the 2025/2026 year. With your Malmo Community League Membership, you can attend the community swim for FREE. Grab your swimsuit and take a little break from winter!

Craft Time for Kids (10 and under) – Get creative!

Saturday, February 28 | 1:00pm to 2:30pm | FREE & open to the whole community

Come do a simple craft together. Supplies and instructions provided. Fun music, a light snack, and play time for the really little ones. Parents: enjoy a cup of coffee while you’re here.

Strong and Fit for Active Agers – Exercise classes start soon (Register now!)

Fridays starting January 9 | 10:00am to 11:00am | Open to the whole community and beyond

This 8-week session (led by an instructor from eOne Fitness) provides a total-body strength workout to shape and tone major muscle groups, increase core strength, improve bone and joint health, and leave you feeling strong and fit.

Recommended equipment: light hand weights, TheraBand (or similar), and a bender ball.

Cost: $90 for 8 weeks | $75 for Malmo members

The last eNews was sent December 1, 2025 and had news about the Michener Park development and all the December events and programs. The next one should arrive in inboxes February 1.
