Volunteer Spotlight: C-Anne Robertson, President
“I moved into my Malmo home in January 2024, bringing with me a long history of building relationships and communities, serving on governance boards, and operating a small not-for-profit business for 35 years.
I joined the Malmo Community League Board just a month after moving here. Community Leagues are at the heart of dynamic neighbourhoods, exactly the kind of community I wanted to live in - so getting involved was a natural choice. I’ve especially enjoyed getting to know my neighbours, building new relationships, connecting people, and helping make Malmo an even stronger and more welcoming community.
On a personal level, my favourite projects are restoring my grandparents’ log home in Northern Alberta, creating strong family ties, being a grandma, and gardening. I’m grateful for all that family and community have brought to my life.”

Shoutouts!
So many to thank and so little space! Make sure you high-five these folks when you encounter them around the neighbourhood:
- Lisa C and all the volunteers who signed up for the July BBQ. Although the BBQ had to be cancelled, you made our hearts full by being willing to lend a hand.
- C-Anne, Gloria, and Connie for hosting the August movie nights at the hall. We’re looking forward to more movie nights in the colder months.
- The speed weeding crews who braved the mosquitoes and worked on the community landscaped beds.
- Ken Hemmerling, a former Community League President, for all the volunteer hours (and firewood!) given to make Malmo a vibrant place. We wish you well in your super-busy eco-friendly retirement.
- Eric Fadden, for so much time, electrical expertise and equipment over the years to make the hall and grounds shine, and for beautifying the neighbourhood. You will be missed!
